This is to: (i) enable adequate phone triage, (ii) decrease wait-room occupancy, (iii) separate patients for sick vs healthy visits, (iv) keep on time for appointmnets, (v) streamline infrastructural logistics. Same day appointment may be available, but a phone booking is MANDATORY. We will usually NOT be able to add-on well (or sick) siblings at the last minute when you arrive for the booked child's appointment; each child must have clear indications for visit, communicated prior and their own individual bookings.
If you have been travelling in the last <4 weeks, do NOT come for a ‘well check-up’. If there is a specific complaint, both the travel details and the specific clinical complaint MUST be succinctly communicated over the phone at the time of booking. Please adhere to public health recommendations, after travel, of self-isolation for at least 14 days to ensure completely symptom free.
We do NOT offer COVID-19 testing at our office. Please contact public health in your region for details on testing sites. If you have symptoms consistent with a respiratory illness, have been asked to quarantine because of a possible exposure to COVID-19, please do NOT COME IN TO THE OFFICE. We are prepared to offer virtual encounters about non-emergent concerns. If your child is unstable please go directly to the emergency room.
Scheduling well is necessary to optimize our availability to our patients and to optimize social distancing. Plan your clinic visit and scheduling accordingly; you may be deferred service for tardiness. No shows (no notification that you will be absent for your scheduled appointment, or notification with < 24 hours for non-emergent reason) will incur documentation on the chart and repeated occurrences may necessitate $50 rebooking fee payable prior to further appointments.
(i) bring minimum number of caregivers; others may be asked to wait outside the clinic.
(ii) you are responsible for your, and your child's, actions/ movements. If you are felt to be encroaching on social distancing, you will be asked to leave.
